Restaurant Ice

It may be time to skip the ice the next time you go out to eat. Recent studies have found that 70% of restaurant ice may be dirtier than toilet water. That’s right. In some restaurants, you may actually have a cleaner cup of water straight from the toilet than you would from the restaurant’s own ice machine. So think about that next time you decide to chew on some ice while you’re eating out. What’s the reason? As it turns out, it’s simply a matter of cleaning. Toilets are cleaned more often than ice machines tend to be. Since cleaning out an ice machine is often seen as a major hassle, many restaurants have a tendency to skip out on giving their ice machines a good scrubbing. If you’re really concerned maybe stick with a bottled drink.
